January to September radio revenue is up 1.8% compared to the same period last year.

The Irish radio advertising market generated revenues of €116.4 million for the January to September 2025 period, representing an increase of 1.8% year-on-year.

The €116.4 million total comprised of:

  • €88.4 million in spot revenue(radio commercials), up 1.5% for the period.
  • €22.3 million in branded content revenue (sponsorships, partnerships, and content solutions), up 0.9%.
  • €5.7 million in digital audio revenue, up 10.2%.

The digital audio revenue reflects in come from Irish radio operators only and does not include revenue from global audio platforms such as Spotify or Acast.

Revenue from media agencies totalled €81.8million, up 3.4%, while direct advertiser revenue came to €34.6 million,down 1.8% for the period.

The largest spending categories on radio continue to be retail, household services (utilities and telecoms), government, finance, and motors. The retail and finance categories recorded strong growth, while spending in the government and motors categories declined. The household services category remained flat.
